Happy Birthday, Udit Narayan!

Hindi Film Industry has given us many original singers. Amongst those, Udit Narayan's name is one of the memorable ones. Besides his original style, I admire Udit for his sweet and soulful voice.

Udit Narayan was born on December 1, 1960 in Nepal. He began his career in Nepal singing for Kathmandu Radio Station where he used to sing Maithli and Nepali folk songs. Udit worked for Kathmandu Radio for almost eight years before the Indian Embassy offered him the chance to study classical music at a prestigious school in Mumbai, Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan on a music scholarship.

Rajesh Roshan gave him his first break for the film "Unnees Bees" in 1980 in which Udit had a chance to sing with his childhood icon, the legendary Mohammed Rafi. Udit became a household name from the 1988 movie, "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak" where his voice suited on Amir Khan like a diamond in a ring. Since then, there has been no stopping for this wonderful singer.

I am presenting Nasha ye Pyar Ka Nasha from the movie “Mann”.

Kya baat hai Khan Bhai....Lajawab....i liked both songs....loved CHAND CHUPA.....the expression on "NA NA CHANDA TU NAHI AANA, WARNA SANAM CHALA JAYEGA" is just out of the world....very nice mixing of ur voice.......for some reason ur voice blended well where as paras ji's voice was floating on the surface....but thats just my opinion..

Its all worth to wait all these days till ur next upload....ur voice texture is so different than Udit ji's...but still u carried of both songs in ur style....i was feeling that Rafi Saab is singing both songs.....loved ur expressions in "Nasha" too..WOH BHI BIN PIYE...LOL

Keep them coming...

Best Regards,
AJ

Azam,
I was not familiar with "Nasha Ye Pyar Ka", but you have performed this number with ease and certainly got my attention.
At first, I thought Rafi Sahab was singing....

I am one big fan of Udit ji...his style like you rightly pointed out is inimitable and his expressions are out of world!
Khan sahab:I am always at the loss of words when i want to write something about your singing. What i admire most about your singing apart from the perfection in notes and excellence in mixing, is that you sing in your own voice and style without trying to imitate the original singer...Makes the entire song so very special..

Paras was damn good..Her voice timbre is so unique and beautiful ...great work paras ji!

Can u both sing Mitwa from "Lagaan"..i am waiting !

Azam,
You have sung "Nasha ye pyar ka" with excellent feelings and wonderful clarity of voice. It has been a while since I heard Udit Narayan's songs. This number has very catchy music and it is simply beautifully sung by you!

"Chaand chhupa badal mein" is a lovely duet by you and Paras. The song has soothing, traditional music that I enjoyed a great deal. I have always appreciated your duets with Paras and look forward to many more. - Mala

Paras, it is always a pleasure working with you as I learn a lot during the process. Our discussions on the contributors of a song (poet, composer, singer, etc) lead me to information that I often find new. Your ability to discover and point out details on pronunciation is remarkable. Thanks for accepting my request to sing "Chand Chhupa" for this theme.

Don't think I ever hear UN songs in your voice. But shouldn't be surprised though, because, the versatile singer you are, A-N-Y song sounds as lively as they could be.

I concur w/Deblina, the expressions in Nasha was totally awesome. Aur woh chhoti-chhoti murkhiyaan...lajwaab. That 'extra' reverb at the very end was a nice touch.

Chand Chhupa is my favorite song from that movie, and what a job you and Paras did. Loved Paras' voice modulation, the sweetness, the harkatein, e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g.

One Rafi Sahab bhakt singing the songs of another RS bhakt. Kya baat hai!!!
