Main Kahin Kavi - Pyar Hi Pyar (1969)

I originally recorded this on April 20, 2006 - about three and a half years ago! It was a late night recording. Send it to a few friends. A few days ago, another friend in Portland asked me if I had recorded this. I admitted that I had and after sending him the mp3 I heard it myself. I thought I could improve it a little bit. So, I recorded it again.

This song has a particular soothing affect to it. To be honest with you, there were times during recording when I started to lag behind due to being under that ecstatic, trancing effect. Anyway, needless to say, I love the song.

I hope you will lend an ear when you have some free time.

Thanks in advance!

Song: Main Kahin Kavi
Movie: Pyar hi Pyar (1969)
Original Singer: Mohammed Rafi
Music Director: Shankar Jaikishan
Lyricist: Hasrat Jaipuri

Finally.....Main Kahin Kavi Na Ban Jaaoon.....in your voice. Thanks to your friend in Portland....

When you sing a Rafi Sahab number, in most cases you keep the original nuances/murkhis in tact; I noticed how you introduced some of your own subtle variations in this song. Loved them! A singer can only incorporate his/her own styles & variations ONLY when he/she is 100% comfortable with the original song. Kyonke, agar original base sur-hi bigad jaaye, to chahe jitna bhi variations daalo, it just won't sound right. Well, perfection is your middle name, therefore, nothing less could be expected of you. Your expressions & the romantic emotions were S-U-P-E-R-B.

OK, now WOULD YOU PLEASE sing Yeh Duniya Yeh Mehfil?????

Azam,
Excellent rendition and loved the way you sang with awesome expressions and feel which was required for this lovely song. In fact, very nice selection and very well crafted mix. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Friend,

You've sung it brilliantly. Thank you for sharing.

Just a small comment - in the very first line you were little low compared to the rhythm and then you had to make adjustment which showed - but this is really minor ... overall though it was really brilliant.

'teri awaaz mein hai jaadu..
teri gayeki mein khanak hai..'!
Bahot khoob gaye ho mere bhai! Very mature singing! Full marks!

Sirf start ke mukhde mein timing thodi si gadbada gayi thi. I'd also like to add here, if u allow me, that SOME of your nuances/expressions sound kinda forced, deliberate. If you could manage to produce them more naturally, subtley, it would make the song sound more pure, more genuine. Just a minor observation, to help u get closer to your goal of perfection...!

Paras,
Bohat shukria! Aap ki hausla afzayee hai warna ye khaaksaar, jahan jis se bezaar, be-yaar-o-madadgaar kisi qabil nahin!

Asim Da,
Main aap ki mohabbat, mustaqil mizaajee, aur burdobaari (love, consistency, and sobriety) ko salaam karta hun. You have never ever, ever disappointed me with your feedbacks. To let you know, you pointers from my first attempt on this song have helped me redo it recently. Thanks you! And yes! "Ye Duniya Ye Mehfil" is definitely nearby!

Dinesh bhai,
Aap ka bohat shukria! Its the continuous support such as yours that keeps me going! I am glad you like the mix. I try to work hard on making each rendition sound as professional as possible.

Dear NB,
Thanks for your observation! A couple of words (the second "Main kahin" to be exact were sung slightly faster to not miss the beat. Karaokes are tricky in the sense that you follow the music and not the other way around which more natural and traditional.

Mustafa,
Thanks for visiting my blog and your feedback! Your observation on a couple of quick words seem to coincide with that of NB's.

Nandita,
Thank you very much for listening and providing your feedback! I am very glad you enjoyed listening to it.
