Aaj Ki Raat (Don)

Expressions of suspense!!! Yes, that is what I learned while recording this song. And it was brought to my attention by none other than Srividya! She has done an outstanding job with this song. The delicate, intentional huskiness, gentle whisperings, and the expressions of thrill - she captures it all, and so skillfully.

I have loved this composition since the first time I heard it. The song became so famous that our local band decided to perform it on a Diwali show last year and was loved by the audience.

I hope you will enjoy the song! And please do not deprive us of your valuable comments.

Khan Bhai,

Maja Aa Gaya phirse......overall its very good...Just felt lacked a bit of energy though....like in lines as AAJ ki RAAT....Sonu Nigam sang his heart out in these lines.....these are places where the essence of this song lies....some more original harkate would have done wonders with AAJ ki RAAT....but loved the background chorus...and ur new variation in it.....too cool...well overall, aapki singing toh flawless thi, as usual....

Srividya-I felt the same energy issue but probably u were giving the song a new dimension with ur expression at the start...so maybe i am wrong...but loved ur voice.....ur voice texture is so apt for such songs.....do some more fast numbers...and keep me posted

Keep up the good work...

Cheers,
AJ

Good job! I feel it would have sounded more energetic if u had sung "Aaj ki raat" with the chorus. The end was pretty good!

Keep it up!

Quiz for Azam: name a song that you yourself don't think that you could sing (lol)
Kya baat hai...lovely rendition, love that 'sweetness', that special 'mitthaas' in your voice, regardless what song it is. Don't know how you do it.
Question: did you sing while still feeling under the weather? Felt you held onto the 'throws' at couple places, like Aaj Ki Raat.

Vidya-
I always liked your singing style in cabaret-type songs. You emote very well in that category (remember, Jawaani Janeman we sang long ago? you did splendid).
Liked your rendition a lot. The 'huskiness' added even more to this number.
Felt you could have exerted more energy into this peppy number.

AJ, you are right, bro! The "Aaj Ki Raat" chorus lines sound weaker in the track. And even though, I contemplated about adding chorus, I could not. Your observations are excellent. Thank you very much!

Sudhathee, thank you so much for your wonderful, encouraging words!

Paras, thank you so much for taking time to listen to this number! You comments are very valuable and always appreciated!

Dinesh bhai, aap ke munh se hamesha achche shabt nikalte hain. It is a pleasure to be at your service for more than a year and I hope to continue to have your company for many more years to come.

Harshan bhai, thanks for your wonderful insight. I could not agree more with you. Thank you very much for your appreciation.

Dhiraj, aap aisi hi mohabbat se sunte rahe to kuch alag kar dikhane ki chaht aur bhi badhtee jai gee! Thanks bro!

Awatts, thanks so much for your wonderful comments! Appreciate it.

Babar, keep listening and listening and listening :) ... thank you for your comments.

Sheriff sahab, thank you very much!

Smitha, you are very correct! If I got time, I will revisit the chorus part. Thanks for listening and your encouraging words.

Asim Da! There are many songs I do not think I can sing! Aur aap ki kya baat hai ... lifafa dekh ke khat ka mazmoon padh lete hain (this is a hindi lesson for you today - translate what I said). Yes, I had cold when I sang this.

Last but not least, I want to thank Vidya very much for singing this song with me. She has done an amazing job and I love this rendition of hers.
