Door Reh Kar: A Majrooh-Ravi Magic

Songs get stuck in our heads for many reasons! This one has been stuck in my head due to its beautiful poetry and composition! The burning passion expressed in this song is enough to melt anyone away!

The song is from movie "Amaanat" from the year 1977. Music director is Ravi, poet Majrooh Sultanpuri, and singer is no other than Mohammed Rafi sahab.

  3. Azam,
Wonderfully sung! The song indeed gave me goose bumps! The true feelings that you bring out in the songs you sing are unique. Your voice is as soothing as that of Rafi Sahab's. Very nice! Keep it up, as you have the real talent and depth of an artist.

  20. Great singing Azam bhai. We rarely get to listen such songs these days.Keep it up.

  21. Azam-
Everyone has already said 'everything', ab main kya bolun mere bhai! During college days (back home) I heard many voices 'trying' to sing Rafi Sahab songs. None of them compare to your 'dard', your 'expressions', your 'emotions' (and yes, I believe there IS a huge difference, between these two 'e's!).....your 'charisma'. One thing amazes me how exquisitely you apply those harkatein in the higher notes, yet making it sound so easy.
One request: put some of your non-Rafi Sahab songs in this blog too. Some of your fans would be pleasantly surprised to hear a 'pukka' Beedi Jalaile, or a Sandese Aate Hain, or a Ramta Jogi in your voice, they would get to see the other side of your talent.
May I request a MukeshJi gaana in your makkhan-jaisi-voice, please? How about Suhani Chandni Raaten Humeh Sone Nahi Deti.

    मैने भी एक ब्लॉग बनाया है जिस पर मैने कुछ हिन्दी के दुर्लभ गानों को लगाया है, आप एक बार देख कर सुझाव दें।
