Guru Dutt [July 9, 1925 - October 10, 1964] was a Hindi film director, producer, and actor. He is most famous for making brilliant lyrical and artistic films within the context of popular Indian cinema of the 1950s, and expanding its commercial conventions, starting with his 1957 masterpiece, Pyaasa. Several of his later works have a cult following. His movies go full house when re-released; especially in Germany, France and Japan. Today, no world class cinema is complete without inclusion of Guru Dutt. Pyaasa was rated as one of the best 100 films of all time by the Time Magazine
Geeta Dutt (born Geeta Ghosh Roy Chowdhuri) [November 23, 1930 – July 20, 1972] was a prominent Indian playback singer in Hindi movies in the 1950s and 60s, and also a singer of modern Bengali songs. When she was 12, her parents moved to Bombay where music director Hanuman Prasad gave her the first break in "Bhakta Prahlad" (1942). She came to light with S D Burman's Baazi.
Guru met Geeta during one of her recordings and they got married on May 26, 1953. They had three children. Some of Geeta's best songs were sung for GuruDutt's movies. S D Burman and O P Nayyar gave Geeta some of the most popular and unforgettable songs and her duets with Mohammed Rafi are all time hits.
These duets presented here are from "Mr. and Mrs. 55" and "12 O' clock". I thank Paras for accepting my request and completing both songs! She has done a job par excellence!

How very refreshing to go back to the 1950's with the eternally lilting love songs and lyrics!
Can we relive those times again?
Srividya, thank you so much for your kind words and listening to these renditions. Your visits here are always welcome and make me happier.
Deepak, thanks a bunch! I am glad you felt good listening to these renditions!
Hammad, thanks for listening! Having these comments from an Atif Aslam fan means a lot to me :D
Bhavana, thanks for lending an ear. Tum Jo Hue is such a lovely number!
PL, I asked myself the same question and then decided to record these songs as a desire to relive those times. Thank you for listening!
Azam & Paras,
Excellent and very melodius singing by both of you. This was a twin treat and I really enjoyed listening both the songs. Very nice expession and thought as if I am listening to my old transistor radio. It is very rare to find such song attempts. Great tribute to Guru Dutt & Geeta Dutt.
I loved it immensely. Well Sung!
Best wishes
Dinesh
Thank you Madhavanji, Dhiraj, Ajay, Srividya, Babar Sahab, Deepak, Bhavana, Hammad Sahab, PL and Dinesh for your kind remarks. Azam has done a great job with these duets. My personal favorite is "Udhar tum".
Thanks Azam for allowing me to be a part of this tribute.
Beautiful job, both of you! Nice to hear such classical numbers from you and Paras.
Good to hear you after a while Azam. Keep singing, both of you!
Sorry, meant to say 'classic' numbers, not 'classical'.
Azam and Paras,
I was out of the country and got to listen to your duets just today. Both duets are fabulous!
Tum Jo Hue.. is beautifully sung by both of you, however Azam deserves a special recognition as Rafi Sahab, Jr. Once more, Azam has excelled in his performance and has brought the lyrics to life.
I absolutely loved Udhar tum... Great duet by both of you. Excellent humming and emotions by Azam. My friends can't tell the difference between the original song and this duet sung by you both! A wonderful tribute to the original duet by both of you. - Mala
Mr. Khan Sahab. your vocal always inspired me, you have good pitch, and a very good vocal tone, and I love it. I enjoy all 9 tracks and there is no room for improvement, I made a cd and I am going to play it in the vehicle.
Dinesh bai, bohat shukria, badi nawazish! Your words always mean a lot to me.
Asim Da,
I knew exactly what you meant :). Thanks so much for listening.
Mala, you are spoiling me beyond repair! I would just say that singing Rafi sahab's songs is more of a subconscious effort than my own intentional one. Thanks for making my day!
Sheriff sahab,
Thanks for visiting and listening to the renditions currently on this page.
And Paras, it was a pleasure to finish these songs with you. You are awesome in both songs! I truly enjoyed recording these rare gems! Thank you!
Azam Bahi,

Both songs (Tum Jo Hue, Udhar Tum Haseen Ho).
I am amazed by your work and contribution to Taranaa.
I would like to be able submit more songs in time to come.
Adarsh
Dear Azamji and Dr. Parasmani,
Both songs are beautiful but the song Tum Jo Hue is a special song for me since there is a Sinhala song in this very same melody. Had no clue when I heard the first time but I am sure it was in my very early childhood ..... when ever that was it still remains the same affection for this sweet song. What a simple brilliant composition by O.P Nayyar sahib. Brilliantly handled by both of you.
Keep Singing ... me listening
